This trip from Marrakech to Fes takes you across the Sahara Desert in 3 days full of adventure and scenery, passing the Atlas Mountains, historic castles, green oases, and reaching the golden sand dunes of Merzouga.
The first important stop will be at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, an imposing adobe fortress declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This place has served as a filming location for films such as Gladiator and series such as Game of Thrones. After exploring this architectural gem, we will continue along the Route of the Thousand Kasbahs, passing through the Valley of the Roses and the Dades Valley. Here, in the rugged Dades Gorges, we will end the day and you will stay in a charming riad with breathtaking views, where you will also have dinner included.
After exploring the gorge, the journey will take us through the city of Rissani, known for its authentic atmosphere and traditional market. Shortly after, we will reach our most awaited destination: the Merzouga desert and the amazing sand dunes of Erg Chebbi.
To enter the real heart of the desert, we will change to camels that will take you to the tent camp, where you will enjoy a traditional dinner and spend the night under a starry sky that looks like it came out of a story book.
We will continue through the Ziz Valley, passing palm groves and contrasting landscapes that will lead us to the city of Midelt. There we will stop for lunch before heading towards the Middle Atlas. Along the way, we will pass the city of Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its architecture and breathtaking views.
Finally, we will arrive in Fez, where we will drop you off at the agreed upon location, thus concluding our complete tour from Marrakech.
